YWCBLO will also provide a stipend toward the cost of lodging during the placement. For employers: · in the nonprofit, public and private sectors; · interested in hiring young bilingual students; · who are ready to provide these students with practical work experience related to their field of study. Employers will be eligible for salary payment subsidies of up to 70%. This opportunity provides employers access to a bilingual, trained and energetic workforce. Student employees will facilitate access to services in French and English throughout the country. The YCWBLO may contribute to the improvement of French and English speakers across the country in two ways: 1) The employee’s first language facilitates its widespread use in the community within which they are working, and helps the people with whom they are working to improve their French or English. 2) The employee improves his or her French or English while working in a bilingual or immersed setting.
